Build With Chrome!
I’m 27 years-old with a maturity level that peaks at that of a 19 year-old. I also am super nostalgic, so I love anything that allows me to channel my inner-child. I used to spend hours and hours with a huge tub of Legos. A lot of times, I would rage so hard at these problems:
- Right piece, wrong color (or vice-versa)
- 2 pieces that I need to pull apart are bound together with what I would swear is cement
- Dump out the whole tub and spend 45min looking for 1 piece
- WHERE THE HELL IS THAT ONE PIECE I NEED??? I JUST SAW IT 2 SECONDS AGO!

Mom won’t mind I dumped these out, I’m sure.
If only those kinds of problems were still my biggest life worries. Sigh.
Never fear, Skynet Google has managed to fill the void. In the latest product to employ their clever sleight-of-hand marketing strategy to disguise and make palatable their data-mining, we now have Build with Chrome. Usually, I pass on their gimmicks because, to narcissistic skeptics like myself, it is easy to see their carrot-and-stick in most of their products:
“HEY! Use this new, super cool, handy widget to communicate with friends that wish you wouldn’t, post dumb shit on your WordPress blog, share stuff that no one cares about, and otherwise be an annoying troll! Just download this, click here, sign up for that… oh yeah, we’ll be collecting every single detail about you but don’t worry about all that — that’s a small trade-off for FUN!!!!”
It’s the same song and dance we’ve been presented with before. I’m totally diff—–BUT I DONT CARE THIS TIME BECAUSE LEGOS.
Check it out though, you can build stuff with just your web browser. Not only that, you build (and publish) them in real-time locations via Skynet Google Maps so others using Build with Chrome can see what you’ve built. Personally, my next project is going to build an enormous white flag in Paris, France. Or a giant Red Sox emblem somewhere in the Bronx.
Bleh, who am I kidding? I’ll probably just do the mature thing and draw giant swear words or phallic symbols in extremely inappropriate places.
